Friendly, but with a Stubborn Streak

ESFJ is a personality type with a mix of extroverted feeling with sensation.

In general, extroverted emotional types are highly empathetic toward others.

As a result, they are friendly and kind to others.

They also love to chat.

They love being with someone anyway!

ESFJs, on the other hand, are relatively realistic due to their well-developed sensations.

Moreover, They also try to conclude everything early.

It seems that they cannot stand procrastination.

And once they have concluded, they don’t want to change it easily.

This is why people around them often think they are stubborn or inflexible.

But sometimes that can turn into a good impression of a strong-willed person.

In general, ESFJs have both “friendliness” and “stubbornness” in their personality.

After reading the ESTJ description on this page, you may feel it does not apply to you.

In that case, there is a possibility that the result of the test is wrong.

If so, please read the following article.

Here is the most important thing to know about personality tests.

Taking personality tests can be harmful!

Affectionate but a Little Meddlesome

Let me be more specific about what I mentioned above.

First, ESFJs are more concerned with reality than ideals because of their relatively well-developed sensations.

And if they find any problems, they try to solve them right away.

Their motto is

“Don’t think; act immediately.”

That is why they are hard workers.

Male or female, they are good at cleaning, chores, and tidying up.

Routine work doesn’t bother them.

Rather, they are good at it.

Perhaps the inside of their houses and around their desks at work are always clean

However, ESFJs have some weaknesses that are common among realists.

First, they are good at noticing the details of things but aren’t good at seeing the big picture.

Likewise, they are good enough to think about today or tomorrow but not good enough to use their imagination about the future.

Therefore, ESFJs seldom venture into the unknown or new areas.

This is why I mentioned earlier that they are good at routine work.

They are more comfortable doing what they are used to than doing something new.

In addition, ESFJs are extroverted feeling types, which means they are inclined to relate emotionally to others.

When they see someone in trouble, they tend to want to help them

Many ESFJs think as follows.

“I want to help others even if I put my business on the back burner.”

However, this affectionate attitude of the ESFJ may seem meddlesome to the other party.

Satisfied with Just Being Thanked

As mentioned above, ESFJs like to help people.

But they don’t expect any money in return.

It is enough for them to hear the words “thank you”.

ESFJs have no ambition to contribute to humanity.

However, their motivation increases dramatically when they receive gratitude from the people they help.

That alone makes them feel happy to be alive.

Conversely, they are disappointed and depressed if they don’t hear words of appreciation.

In other words, ESFJs are concerned about how they are evaluated by others.

This is a characteristic of the extroverted feeling type.

Weaknesses: Thinking and Intuition

Here is a diagram of ESFJ personality functions using Jungian psychology concepts.

(This is different from the MBTI interpretation.)

As shown in the diagram above, feeling and sensation functions are in the realm of consciousness and are already well-developed.

Therefore, the owner of this personality is familiar with handling those two functions.

However, thinking and intuition are in the realm of unconsciousness and are not developed yet.

Problems related to these underdeveloped areas are a real weakness for this type of person.

However, having these weaknesses isn’t a problem in itself.

Not realizing that you have such weaknesses is the real problem.

It is so hard to develop functions that you aren’t good at.

However, just by being aware that you have such a weakness, you can change your way of life.

Pacifist and Afraid of Making Waves

ESFJs are extroverted, so their energy is always directed toward the outer world.

Therefore, they are rather sociable and get along well with most people.

However, their ways of life are not very flashy.

Everything they do is too neat, and the ESFJs seem to seek a safe way of life.

Also, they aren’t good at dealing with unexpected events and want everything to go as planned.

In other words, they love regularity or order.

ESFJs want to “live in an orderly world” if they can.

They don’t want to live a life without order.

As a result, ESFJs lead stable and happy lives in many cases.

Don’t Make Fun of Intuitive Type!

Most ESFJs don’t live their lives with the desire to get a big promotion or become very rich.

If anything, they are people who find happiness in a peaceful life.

Also, they are positive thinkers, so they probably don’t seem to think that “life is hard.”

They must feel happy just to be alive…

In this way, ESFJs are satisfied with “life without greed.”

So, on the contrary, they lack understanding of those who are living with big dreams.

Many people in the world continue to pursue their dreams throughout their lives.

To these people, they sometimes say things like the following.

Don’t talk like a dream!

Be serious!

People who have dreams don’t necessarily live their lives without a plan.

However, their plans look like a dream to others because of the long period it takes to realize them.

ESFJs need to understand those people as well.

Summary of ESFJ type

I hope this article has helped ESFJs understand “how they are viewed by those around them.

In conclusion, I will summarize the features of ESFJs.

Friendly but a bit stubborn.

Affectionate people but also meddlesome.

Energized by the appreciation of others.

Prefer to live safely rather than in conflict.

Lack of logic and intuition.
